We live in an age of true media convergence. Content can now be created and shared instantaneously with minimal effort. As an artist, it's my goal to investigate and leverage all of the mediums available to create meaningful work that opens both internal and external dialogues on race, gender, sex and politics.
My current body of work explores the efficacy of trans-media as a tool for storytelling and myth building. Incorporating elements of old media through digitization and augmenting them to fit specific contexts within a larger narrative.
Many of these projects are ongoing, but to see samples of my previous work which includes photomontage, painting and illustration please go to MikhailValentin.com
